ECHO Comments Archive Index

ECHO Logo

ECHO's public comment period closed on March 31, 2003. EPA is reviewing the comments received. During this review period, ECHO will remain online as a pilot site. Users may continue to submit error notifications using the error reporting feature on the Detailed Facility Reports. An official communication about the ECHO project is expected to be released in late May-early June.

Background Information

Press inquires should be directed to John Millet of the EPA Press Office at 202-564-7842 or millett.john@epa.gov.

You can submit a tip or complaint for follow-up by EPA enforcement personnel by reporting an alleged violation at ECHO Comments..

ECHO Comment Reading Room

Two different kinds of comments have been received for the ECHO Web site. Summaries of both types of comments can be viewed in the following two locations:

Weekly Feedback Digest. This digest includes emails and feedback received from the ECHO site. These do not show the name of the sender, and are in some cases edited to remove information about particular facilities. EPA has done this because it is not clear that these comments were submitted for attribution. Please note that EPA has received more than 10,000 mass emails (same content from multiple addresses). For brevity, these are only shown once in the feedback digest.

Formal Comment Docket. EPA has considered any hard copy or email attachment that is attributed to a particular organization as a comment that should be displayed as representing that organization's opinions.
